This week I was playing in a 1836 Tour event at The Vale of Llangollen where I finished in tied 4th position with a  round of 70 (-2)

It’s always good to be on the leaderboard but I will look to play better at my next event and finish higher up the leaderboard.

I’ve had an enjoyable start to 2012 and I’m looking forward to the season over here in the UK which is about to get underway.

In February I competed in 3 tournaments in Spain, and earlier this month I competed in a Challenge Tour event in Colombia! My first visit to South America and I look forward to returning there again in the future.

This year I will be playing on various tours here in the UK including Europro Tour, Jamega Tour, and TP Tour events and will look to play well enough to earn some more  invitations for higher level tournaments. I’ll also try and qualify for The Open Championship again this year.

It’s been satisfying to see my skills develop over the past few months and I’m enjoying my Golf more than ever. I hope to see you out on Tour this year, check out my schedule here on my website which will be updated throughout the year and you can follow my progress on Twitter @JGidney

2011 has been and up and down year for me, my game hasn’t been to the level that I expect of myself for most of the year but I have developed as an individual and will go into next year stronger because of it. Looking at the positives I managed to get my first professional win this year, I played in another Challenge Tour event, and I have a great team around me which will stay similar for 2012.

I have a strong desire to significantly increase my level of performance in 2012.

2012 plans:

In the spring I will practice and compete in a series of competitions abroad and then return to the UK for the summer where I plan to compete in Europro Tour and Jamega Tour events along with some other mini tour competitions. I also plan to play in both the Open Championship and European Tour Qualifying events.
